  1. The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is the first ever motorsport track in the middle east.

  2. The 5.412 km circuit was officially opened in 2004.

  3. The track was designed by Hermann Tilke, a renowned German architect who is known for designing some of the most iconic modern race circuits including Sepang, Istanbul and Yokohama.

  4. The BIC has held 11 Formula One World Championships, the most of any race track in the Middle East.

  5. The circuit is also used for various other motorsport events including the annual Bahrain Grand Prix and the World Endurance Championships.

  6. The track is made up of four long straights and 16 turns, including a challenging series of turns around the infield section.

  7. The circuit features two hairpins and two chicanes each offering plenty of overtaking opportunities.

  8. The longest straight on the track measures 1.2 kilometres and is the longest of all Formula One circuits.

  9. A total of 24 pits are provided on the track, with 12 in the main pit lane and 12 in the centre of the infield.

  10. The track is illuminated with more than 15,000 floodlights, making night-time races possible.
